Steve Howey reckons that Mat Ryan could cope with the pressure of playing for Celtic.

According to Sky Sports, the Scottish Premiership giants are interested in bringing the goalkeeper to Parkhead this summer.

Celtic struggled for a first-choice shot-stopper last term, with both Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain sharing the number one shirt, although even youngster Conor Hazard was given first-team action.

But reports believe that new manager Ange Postecoglou wants to work with Ryan again following their time together with the Australian national team.

Ryan spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal having lost his number one shirt at Brighton to Robert Sanchez, although the 29-year-old has since revealed his confusion as to why he was dropped by Graham Potter.

He wasn’t even included on the bench for the final eight games before he moved to north London, which suggests that his days at Brighton might be numbered and could therefore open the door for a switch to Celtic.

Howey exclusively told Football FanCast:

“Some players can flourish and embrace it completely.

“I would have thought the lad would cope with it, I’d be very surprised if he didn’t, to play for a club like Celtic with their history and the fans.

“For any player, unless you’re desperate to play in the Premier League, to play for a club like Celtic would be fantastic.”

وأوضح نادي غزل المحلة في بيانه الذي نشره عبر حسابه الرسمي بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي “فيس بوك” أن المدير الفني السابق اجتمع مع مسؤولي سموحة خلال معسكر الفريق المغلق الذي أقيم للفريق بالإسكندرية، قبل مواجهتي الاتحاد السكندري.

باندهاش شديد تابعنا جميعًا تطور الأحداث وتصاعدها خلال الأيام الثلاثة الماضية، فيما يتعلق بملف المدير الفني -السابق- للنادي، الكابتن عبد الحميد بسيوني، حيث تواترت الأنباء في البداية ببدء مفاوضات بينه وبين فريق سموحة، على الرغم من معرفة كافة الأطراف بأنه مرتبط بعقود -هو وجهازه الفني بالكامل- مع غزل المحلة حتى نهاية الموسم الجاري (2021/ 2022)، وانتهى الأمر بإعلان التعاقد بالفعل، حيث قام نادي سموحة بإعلان الأمر عبر الصفحة الرسمية لسموحة، وكذلك عبر صفحة بسيوني الشخصية.

وبناء على ذلك اجتمع مجلس إدارة شركة غزل المحلة لكرة القدم صباح اليوم؛ لمناقشة الأمر واستعراض ما دار خلال الأيام الماضية.

وتوضيحًا لحقيقة ما حدث فإن مجلس الإدارة يؤكد على علمه منذ ما يقرب من عشرة أيام بفتح خط التفاوض بين بسيوني وسموحة، عبر عضو مجلس إدارة بنادي سموحة، من قبل مباراة الفريق أمام فاركو الماضية، ولم يشأ مجلس الإدارة -رغم علمه بكل هذه التحركات- أن يثير الأمر؛ حرصًا على استقرار الفريق الذي كانت أمامه مباراتان في غاية الحساسية، وهما مباراتا فاركو والاتحاد، وأملًا من مجلس الإدارة أن يعيد الجهاز الفني النظر في موقفه المشين، ويعود لجادة الصواب، لكن ما حدث أن معسكر الفريق المغلق الذي أقيم للفريق بالإسكندرية، الذي سبق مباراتنا ضد الاتحاد السكندري شهد تماديًا منهم، حيث عُقِدَت جلسة مفاوضات بين بسيوني وبين إدارة سموحة، رغم وجوده بالإسكندرية للقيام بالمهام الموكلة إليه من قبل المحلة، والتي بتقاضى راتبه بناء عليها، وفي الأخير تم توقيع العقود بينهم بعد مباراة الاتحاد مباشرة.

واستجلاء للأمر بصورة أكبر؛ فإن بسيوني كان قد أجرى اتصالًا هاتفيًّا بالمهندس علي العباسي، رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة غزل المحلة لكرة القدم، الذي كان موجودًا خارج البلاد لأداء مناسك العمرة، ليشكو من زيادة الضرائب بواقع خمسة بالمائة، وهي النسبة التي حددتها الجهات المعنية بالدولة، غير أن رئيس النادي وعده بمناقشة الأمر عند عودته، وحل جميع الأمور العالقة، التي رأى مجلس الإدارة حينها أنها تُثار من الجهاز الفني لا لشيء سوى لكونها بحثًا عن “شمَّاعة” يعلق عليها المدير الفني -السابق- هروبه.

ثم أخيرًا فوجئ رئيس مجلس إدارة الشركة ببسيوني يتصل به عند وصوله إلى مصر فجر أمس ليخبره برغبته في ترك النادي، في تصرف شديد الغرابة، يتنافى مع أبسط قواعد احترام الذات، واحترام المواثيق والعهود، وفي تصرف غير مفهوم على الإطلاق في ضوء توفير مجلس الإدارة لكافة الإمكانيات للجهاز، ووقوفه خلفه في أصعب اللحظات التي مر بها، من تراجع في النتائج، كان آخرها فقدانه لخمس نقاط كاملة في آخر مباراتين، أثناء انشغاله بالمفاوضات مع سموحة، وكذلك في ظل الدعم غير المحدود للجهاز أمام تذمر بعض جماهير المحلة العظيمة العاشقة للكيان في ظل هذا التراجع. في النتائج.

وبناء على ما سبق فإن مجلس الإدارة اتخذ قرارًا بتحويل عقد الجهاز الفني السابق بقيادة عبد الحميد بسيوني ومعاونيه للسيد المستشار القانوني لشركة غزل المحلة لكرة القدم لاتخاذ كافة الإجراءات القانونية حيال الأمر، بما يحفظ للنادي حقوقه القانونية كاملة.

وأخيرًا، فإن مجلس إدارة شركة غزل المحلة لكرة القدم إذ يؤكِّد على احترامه لكافة أطراف منظومة كرة القدم المصرية، فإنه يهيب بالمسؤولين عن المنظومة أن يضطلعوا بمسؤولياتهم أمام مثل هذه المواقف التي بلا شك تسيء لصورة المدربين المصريين عمومًا، ولا تأخذ بعين الاعتبار مسألة رعاية الاستثمارات الضخمة التي تتكبَّدها الأندية المصرية، والتي تؤثر عليها سلبًا مثل هذه التصرفات الصغيرة التي لا تليق بمدرب يحترم اسمه، ولا بنادٍ يتوجَّب عليه احترام الأندية المنافسة.

أكد المدير الفني تشافي هيرنانديز أن برشلونة في وضع صعب، وعقّد الأمور على نفسه بالهزيمة أمام رايو فاييكانو، وطالب حكم المباراة بالخروج وتوضيح ما إذا كان قد أخطأ في قراره تجاه جافي.

وتعرض برشلونة لهزيمة بهدف دون رد، في مباراة مؤجلة من الجولة 21 لليجا أمام رايو فاييكانو، ونشرت صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية تصريحات تشافي.

وقال: “لقد استحقينا أكثر من ذلك بكثير، لكن لم تكن لدينا الشخصية التي يجب أن نمتلكها، لقد حاولنا، لكن الهدف لم يرغب في الدخول، أحاسيس مشابهة جدًا للهزيمة أمام قادش، هذا هو واقعنا، الناس يخاطرون بحياتهم للفوز ونحن يجب أن نفعل مثلهم”.

وعن افتقار الفريق للشخصية، أفاد: “لن أقول ذلك، نحن بحاجة لخوض المباريات بشكل أفضل، إنها فرصة ذهبية ضائعة، علينا أن نستمر ونصل إلى دوري الأبطال مهما حدث”.

وواصل: “لقد كان الأمر معقدًا دائمًا، في نوفمبر كنا في المركز التاسع، هناك حالات طوارئ، إنها حقيقة، كرة القدم وحالات الطوارئ الاقتصادية وعلينا مواجهتها، نحن لسنا خائفين من اللعب، لكن الأمور تتعقد، دعونا نرتاح ونفكر في ذلك، المباراة القادمة أمام مايوركا، لدينا 5 مباريات بمثابة نهائيات نخوضها”.

Southampton have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Thomas Delaney recently, and the 29-year-old could be the man to finally replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.

According to ESPN, Southampton are keen on the Denmark international, with Dortmund expected to demand just £8.6m for his services this summer.

The 29-year-old’s contract at Signal Iduna Park is set to expire at the end of next season, and along with the rise of teenage sensation Jude Bellingham, that could see the former Werder Bremen midfielder et go for a cut-price fee this summer. Southampton could be the ones to benefit, especially as he suits Hasenhuttl’s transfer plan of targeting players under £10m.

The Denmark international also admitted when signing for Dortmund that it was his “big wish” to play in the Premier League, so a move to Southampton could certainly be on the cards.

If he were to arrive at St Mary’s, he could be the man to step up as Hojbjerg’s replacement after his 25-year-old international colleague completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

Following his arrival from Bayern Munich in 2016, the midfielder went on to make 134 appearances for the Saints, contributing five goals and six assists, whilst he was also appointed as captain of the club. However, he made it clear that he wanted to depart last summer and he duly joined the north Londoners, with Kyle Walker-Peters heading the other way.

Ibrahima Diallo arrived last summer as his potential replacement but was limited to very little game-time until Oriol Romeu’s injury. After a positive start, the 21-year-old has struggled to perform in recent weeks, with a notably poor performance in the FA Cup semi-final perhaps highlighting that he isn’t ready for a regular starting berth.

Whilst Romeu has been one of the Saints’ top performers this season when fit, they have struggled in his absence, which suggests that they need a more experienced head in midfield to step in should he be unavailable.

Therefore, Delaney could be the ideal man for Southampton this summer, and he could arguably fill the hole left by Hojbjerg, who he will know well from their time playing together with Denmark.

The Dortmund midfielder has averaged 1.9 tackles and 1.1 interceptions per game, along with an 83.3% pass success rate, in the Bundesliga this season, whereas Hojbjerg has averaged 2.3 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game, with an 88.5% pass success rate.

WhoScored suggests that both Hojbjerg and Delaney’s main strengths include their ability to win aerial duels and their concentration, whilst both are more than willing to commit tactical fouls.

Therefore, the 29-year-old could be the man to finally replace Hojbjerg in Hasenhuttl’s side, as this season has perhaps emphasised that Diallo is not yet ready for a regular starting spot, and someone of Delaney’s experience could be a very useful acquisition for Southampton ahead of next season.

After appearing to be on the verge of being sacked at Newcastle United, Steve Bruce has turned the club’s fortunes around and has bagged himself the Manager of the month award for April but Newcastle United Hall of Famer, Rob Lee, exclusively told Football FanCast that Bruce will want money to spend this summer.

Bruce recently did an explosive interview on talkSPORT where he claimed that his future at Newcastle was not for him to decide and was instead up to others higher up at the club to make a decision on his position.

The former Sunderland manager has made some expensive signings since being appointed as the Magpies manager in 2019 such as Joelinton for £40 million and Callum Wilson for £20 million.

Rob Lee told FFC exclusively that Bruce’s interview on talkSPORT may have been his way of asking Mike Ashley for some money to spend this summer, but admits it’s hard to predict what the owner will do:

“I’m not sure Mike Ashley is logical because you never know what he’s going to do. He never comes out and says anything about what he’s going to do at the club, so you have no idea what he’s planning.

“I think Bruce is saying that Ashley has either got to give him some money and let him get the players that he wants or sack him and get somebody else in and give them some money. Whoever it is, whether it’s Bruce or somebody else, they need some money otherwise we’ll find ourselves in the same position again next year.”

Ashley may well be scared from spending big money on players with his one and only big purchase, Joelinton, has burned a hole in his pocket as the striker has managed just six goals in 68 league games.

The Magpies have confirmed their Premier League status for next season after Fulham failed to keep up with Newcastle’s recent run of good form, as Scott Parker’s side won just once in their last eight games.

David Moyes could avoid a severe Declan Rice headache at West Ham United next season by signing Manchester City midfielder Yangel Herrera.

According to reports from Spain, the Irons have stolen a march in the race to sign Herrera as Granada will not be able to afford the purchase clause in their loan agreement.

The continuing effects of the pandemic on the Nazaries’ finances mean they are likely unable to trigger the €20m (£17.5m) agreement at the end of the season.

Granada intend to explore an extension of Herrera’s current loan terms with Manchester City in the summer, with a feeling that his efforts could not have gone any better for the Nuevo Los Carmenes Stadium natives this season.

Manchester City had sought to include Herrera as part of their £21m deal to sign Ferran Torres from Valencia last year, but are now expected to offer the 23-year-old a chance to prove himself to Pep Guardiola in the Citizens’ pre-season schedule.

That has not stopped Premier League eyes from glaring at the Etihad in hopes of securing a deal, with West Ham, Southampton, Leeds United and Crystal Palace all credited with an interest in the Venezuelan.

The Hammers are thought to be the best-placed side to secure Herrera’s services if he leaves Manchester City, as boss Moyes is a fan of the 23-cap international and club chiefs are prepared to offer an enticing contract in efforts to land his signature.

West Ham are likely to be in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer after Mark Noble confirmed that the 2021/22 campaign would be his last at the London Stadium, along with the potential summer departure of Rice amid interest from Manchester United.

Should West Ham sign Man City’s Herrera?

West Ham’s interest in Herrera could fast become a moot point if he returns to City and impresses Guardiola this summer, but Moyes is right to admire the midfielder’s talents and explore a deal to sign the Venezuelan should he become available.

Moyes is currently earning a taste of what life is like as Irons boss without Rice in his plans as the England international continues his recovery from a lateral knee ligament injury, having had the 22-year-old available for his previous 48-straight Premier League games.

Rice’s injury has been described as a “headache” for Moyes by Frank McAvennie, with Noble and Tomas Soucek his only natural holding options available in the engine room, and that situation would fast get out of hand if Manchester United are successful in their interest.

But Herrera would be expected to act as instant pain relief, having dazzled in La Liga – where Spanish football expert Terry Gibson believes he’s been “outstanding” and has proven to be “a really athletic, dynamic player who has a habit of getting into the box at the right times.”
