It has been a summer of change for Glasgow Rangers as they have altered their playing squad with a host of exits and arrivals over the last couple of months.

The Light Blues allowed a number of players to depart Ibrox upon the expiry of their contracts as Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield, and Filip Helander were among those to leave for nothing last month.

Michael Beale has wasted no time in bringing new signings in to make up for those departures, with Kieran Dowell, Abdallah Sima, Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, and Sam Lammers all coming through the door, while Cyriel Dessers is reportedly set to join them as the sixth fresh recruit.

However, Ryan Kent is one star who may not have been replaced yet. The English wizard spent the majority of his time at Ibrox playing as a left winger and Rangers haven't brought in a player who excels in that area of the pitch. Indeed, Sima has only played six matches there in his career.

Beale could finally replace the former Liverpool attacker by completing a swoop for reported transfer target Bright Osayi-Samuel, who is said to be eyeing a move away from Fenerbahce ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The Nigeria international, who is valued at €10m (£8.6m) by the Turkish giants, has often been deployed at right-back for his current club but he has played on the left flank 49 times and on the wing in general on 200 occasions.

This suggests that he has the potential to come in as another wide option for the head coach, which could make him the eventual heir to Kent's position in the team.

Osayi-Samuel, who ex-boss Mark Warburton claimed "terrifies defenders", caught the eye as an attacker during his time with Queens Park Rangers in England.

In the 2019/20 campaign, the four-cap ace scored five goals to go along with eight assists in 34 Championship starts, whilst he also created nine 'big chances' for his teammates.

This shows that the quality is there for him to be an excellent option in the final third for Rangers if Beale can convert him back to being a winger at Ibrox, with his statistics indicating that he can replicate the success Kent had in Glasgow.

The 26-year-old, who is now coincidentally at Fenerbahce with Osayi-Samuel, scored three goals and assisted eight in 28 Scottish Premiership clashes last term, whilst the talented magician also created nine 'big chances'.

No Rangers attacker or midfielder managed as many assists for the club during the 2022/23 campaign, which suggests that Kent was Beale's top creator in those positions. Such a fact means replacing him is a crucial task in the coming weeks.

Osayi-Samuel's performances for QPR during his time on the flanks show that the potential is there for him to be an outstanding creative threat. Therefore, he could well be the perfect asset to replace the outgoing Kent before the transfer deadline slams shut.

It looks set to be a busy summer at Villa Park ahead of Unai Emery’s first full season in charge, with NSWE set to back the Spaniard with a “huge” transfer budget.

The first deal has already been agreed with Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, and another could be on the way with Villa in pole position to sign Arthur Melo, who spent last season on loan at Liverpool.

A new attacker could also be on the wishlist with links to Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos, while defensive reinforcements another area where Villa could add to under Monchi, Villa’s new president of football operations.

According to reports, Aston Villa are interested in signing Maguire this summer. Alongside Villa, both Newcastle and Tottenham are also thought to be keen, although the 30-year-old is currently happy at Old Trafford.

However, should Manchester united sign a new centre-back this summer, it is believed that Maguire could fall further down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag, with left-back Luke Shaw even preferred at centre-back over Maguire at points in recent months.

As initially reported by Fabrizio Romano earlier this month, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is wanted at Villa, with the club having “concrete interest” in the Argentinian.

The speculation was relayed earlier this week by The Athletic, who claim the Spaniard is wanting a number eight, with the player on loan at his former club Villarreal potentially being on the horizon for a reunion.

According to Romano’s report last year, Spurs would want around €20m (£17.2m) for the midfielder if he was to be permanently sold. That is significantly down on the £55m they initially paid for him.

Hailed as being a “magnificent player” by Sevilla president Jose Castro, the midfielder ranks highly in comparison to Europe’s elite for his form over the past year.

As per FBref, the 27-year-old is comparable to Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne statistically, and ranks in the top 1% of those in his position in Europe for shot-creating actions, averaging 4.85 per 90.

The £100k-per-week star could be a strong figure for Emery to integrate into his plans for Villa’s midfield, with him proving to be a better performer than his current option in fellow Argentine Emiliano Buendia.

The Villa ace has averaged a Sofascore rating of just 6.79 in the Premier League this season, in comparison to Lo Celso’s 7.08 in La Liga, showing the level of consistency in the Villa target’s game.

In the most pivotal aspects of the roles of an advanced midfielder, the Villarreal star comes out on top to Buendia for a range of attributes, as shown by FBref.

Lo Celso averages 7.99 progressive passes per 90, with Buendia scoring 5.12 in that area per 90 over the past year. A similar theme comes through their average number of successful take-ons, with the La Liga man totalling 1.70 to the Villa players’ 0.98 per 90.

Newcastle United could be set for a raid on Villarreal this summer, with reports from Spain via Sport Witness stating that the Toon have entered the race to sign Samuel Chukwueze.

The Premier League outfit have stormed into the top four this season and are on the precipice of securing a place in the Champions League for the first time in over a decade. The last time the club played in Europe was all the way back in the 2012/13 season, when they played Europa League football.

Now, with two games to go in the current campaign, Eddie Howe's side could bag their spot in the Champions League. If they do, then reinforcements will likely be needed this summer in order to help them compete both domestically and on the big stage too.

One way in which they could improve their team, according to a report from Spain via Sport Witness, is on the wing, with the club keeping an eye on Samuel Chukwueze. The report states that they are one of the latest sides to put him on their transfer radar and that with the player likely to look elsewhere rather than commit to current club Villarreal, a deal could happen.

It adds that the winger could specifically be signed to replace Allan Saint-Maximin at the Toon too. The Frenchman was superb when he first arrived in England, with three goals and four assists in just 23 starts. He reached his best ever total – ten league goal contributions – only last season, with the side finishing in eleventh. This campaign though, he has only managed eleven starts and has only one goal to his name.

The Villareal man has managed his best ever goal contribution haul in Spain this season, with six goals and five assists in 33 La Liga outings. He's even been praised by coach Quique Setien for his role in the Villareal side, as he called the winger "an extraordinary player" who is helping the Spanish side enormously, so it certainly seems he has more to offer versus Saint-Maximin's flair.

Chukwueze then has earned a move to the Premier League with his outstanding displays over the last few seasons – but it could spell the end for a bit of a fan favourite on Tyneside if he does..

Journalist Charles Watts has suggested that Granit Xhaka could be used by Arsenal in a swap deal to land Moussa Diaby.

Is Xhaka leaving Arsenal?

It's been a great season for the Gunners who have surprised many by genuinely fighting for a Premier League title.

And while they look destined to fall short of that goal, they have still achieved their main goal of getting back into the Champions League.

At the heart of the improvement, has been Xhaka who has played in all but one league game this season, scoring five goals and assisting seven.

Despite this arguably best season of his Arsenal career, it looks as though the time has come for him to depart.

Indeed, Fabrizio Romano has explained on Twitter that Bayer Leverkusen are in "advanced talks" to sign the midfielder.

With this being the case, Watts has suggested it could be an opportunity to use Xhaka in part of a swap deal that could see Leverkusen winger Diaby move to the Emirates.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, he explained (3:38): “Diaby at Leverkusen, you know, could that be something that's potentially tied in with Granit Xhaka going to Leverkusen in the summer?

“All these things are going to be decided over the next few months but I think selling players is going to be absolutely key for Arsenal in terms of what they're going to do this summer and how they take the squad up to the next level.”

Will Arsenal try to sign Moussa Diaby this summer?

In the winter, Arsenal were reported by Sky Sports as having made contact with Bayer Leverkusen over Diaby with a €100m (£88.5m) price tag floating around.

That's an awful lot of money but if the Gunners added Xhaka – who is supposedly on the move for €15m (£13m) – then this transfer could become a little more affordable.

What's more, Diaby – who's been hailed a "beast" by some in the media – earns considerably less than the Swiss midfielder, with his wages at £38k-p/w and the current Arsenal man on £120k-p/w, so this would also make the deal a little more palatable for the club accountants.

All in all, it sounds as though Xhaka will be leaving north London this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to ruthlessly upgrade his squad.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if Diaby is viewed as someone who can come in and help raise the level of the team.

Leeds United defender Max Wober may miss this afternoon’s crucial meeting against Bournemouth through injury.

What’s the latest Leeds injury news?

The Whites travel south for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with the Cherries in what appears to be a must-win fixture in their bid to avoid the drop.

They begin the afternoon six points behind Bournemouth, who have won three of their last four, two of which came against relegation rivals Leicester City and Southampton.

Javi Gracia will be without Luis Sinsterra who has been ruled out for the season with an ankle injury, and it looks as if Wober may also miss out.

The Austrian returned from injury last weekend against Fulham but was once again absent in the 1-1 draw with Leicester in the week after missing training on Monday. Leeds correspondent Phil Hay, who was present for Gracia’s pre-match press conference at Thorp Arch, took to Twitter to provide the latest on Wober, saying:

“Wober not training yet. So a doubt for Sunday.”

Not good for Leeds…

Leeds haven’t had much luck when it comes to injuries this season, and being without Wober for large parts of the run-in hasn’t been ideal alongside midfielder Tyler Adams.

Described as an “intelligent” player and “leader” by former manager Jesse Marsch, the January arrival’s presence on the pitch has been noticeable. With Wober, Leeds haven’t conceded more than twice in a game, whereas without him, they have shipped four to Arsenal, five to Crystal Palace and six to Liverpool.

Therefore, as well as the blow to Sinisterra, this update on Wober isn’t ideal for Leeds, but hopefully, they will manage to record just a third away win of the season and return to Yorkshire this evening with three vital points.
