Central Punjab drafted the batsman into their XI after Usman Salahuddin, fielding at short leg, suffered a blow to the back of his neck

Mohammad Saad became the first concussion substitute in Pakistan domestic cricket after he replaced Usman Salahuddin on day two of Central Punjab’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match against Southern Punjab.Salahuddin sustained a blow to the back of his neck on the first day of the match, while fielding at short leg. He was struck by a sweep from opening batsman Sami Aslam. Salahuddin appeared in some discomfort, and walked off the field in the company of the Central Punjab physio. Scans confirmed a concussion, but ruled out any major concerns.”The player was immediately examined for concussion and was taken off the field for an X-ray,” the PCB said in a statement. “Salahuddin had neck pain, headache, and blurred vision immediately after injury.”Salahuddin was cleared to return to the dressing room but remained under observation. At the start of day two, Central Punjab requested the match referee that Saad, a middle-order batsman, be allowed to replace Salahuddin in their XI.Salahuddin, 28, played two ODIs in May 2011 against West Indies, and got his maiden Test call-up six years later, on another tour of the Caribbean. He had to wait until June 2018 for his Test debut, against England at Headingley, where he scored 4 and 33 in an innings defeat. He has not featured in international cricket since.

تحدث سيد عبد الحفيظ، لاعب الأهلي السابق، عن مشاركة الأحمر في بطولة كأس السوبر المصري المقبلة بالإمارات.

وقال سيد عبد الحفيظ، في تصريحات عبر قناة إم بي مصر 2: “أخشى أن كولر يبدأ يلعب في التشكيل بعد الهزيمة أمام الزمالك في السوبر الإفريقي، هل هذا سيكون قرارا مناسبا؟ سنرى في الملعب، لكن إلى أي مدى سيكون التغيير هل أشرف داري سيلعب؟ هل إمام عاشور سيتغير مركزه أو أفشة سيكون له دور من البداية؟”.

وتابع: “كولر ليس معتادا على الهزائم كتيرا، ولا نعلم رد فعله، هل سيعتبر الخسارة في السوبر الإفريقي مباراة ومرت أو هو من نوعية المدربين بعد الهزيمة يغيروا في التشكيل”.

وأكمل: “إدارة بيراميدز تتعرض لهجوم من البعض بسبب عدم بيع إبراهيم عادل، لكن الإدارة تبحث عن مصلحتها، من الممكن أن يكونوا في انتظار هل البديل سيكون مناسبا لبيع إبراهم أم لا وبيراميدز نجح في التتويج بالبطولات ويمكن تصنيفه حاليًا بأنه مرشح لكأس السوبر المصري”.

After bringing in Brendon McCullum as the head coach, Kolkata Knight Riders have added David Hussey and Kyle Mills as the chief mentor and as bowling coach respectively for the 2020 IPL season.The announcement was made on Saturday, as part of an overall revamp of the Knight Riders backroom. Franchise CEO Venky Mysore said in a statement, “It’s great to welcome David Hussey and Kyle Mills to the Knight Riders Family. They bring a wealth of experience as professionals, and are terrific individuals. We are confident that their contribution as part of the think tank of KKR, and to the KKR Academy, will be invaluable.”Hussey is a former Knight Riders player, having represented the franchise in 23 games between 2008 and 2010 during the course of a glittering T20 career in which he played 267 matches, scoring 6097 runs and picking up 68 wickets.Apart from turning out for Australia 39 times, 42-year-old Hussey plied his trade in leagues in his own country for the Melbourne Stars, in the West Indies, New Zealand and Australia, apart from playing in the IPL with Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab. Earlier this year, in May, Hussey was appointed coach of the Stars for the next edition of the Big Bash League, replacing the outgoing Stephen Fleming.Former New Zealand paceman Mills, meanwhile, remains at No. 2 behind Daniel Vettori in the list of his country’s highest wicket-takers in ODI cricket – 240 from 170 games – despite retiring from international cricket in 2015.The 40-year-old paceman also played 98 T20s – 42 of them internationally – for 105 wickets, and took up a role as bowling coach with the New Zealand men’s team for a brief period in 2018.Mills replaced Omkar Salvi, the team’s bowling coach till last season.Back in mid-July this year, following a fifth-place finish in IPL 2019, Knight Riders parted ways with head coach Jacques Kallis and assistant coach Simon Katich, and appointed McCullum as the chief coach, for the Kolkata franchise as well as the owners’ team in the Caribbean Premier League, Trinbago knight Riders.

Celtic squandered the chance to go back to the top of the Scottish Premiership on Sunday as they were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Hearts at Tynecastle.

The Hoops missed a penalty, through Adam Idah, early on and then had Hyun-jun Yang sent off for a high foot challenge before the hosts took the lead from the penalty spot through Jorge Grant before the break.

Lawrence Shankland, who had a goal disallowed for offside just before half-time, then made it 2-0 in the 56th minute with a clinical finish into the bottom corner, which turned out to be the final strike of the afternoon.

Whilst Idah and Yang let their side down with their mistakes in the first 15 minutes, the Celtic duo were not the only poor performers of the day for Brendan Rodgers as Tomoki Iwata also let the head coach down badly.

Idah and Yang's statistics against Hearts

Yang, frustratingly, enjoyed a strong start to the match as he won a penalty after a strong drive into the box and completed 100% (9/9) of his attempted passes before his red card.

However, there was no excuse for his sending off as the winger lifted his foot far too high in an attempt to flick the ball over the defender, which gave the referee – with the help of VAR – a decision to make.

Idah, meanwhile, did win three of his five aerial battles and tested Zander Clark with four shots on target throughout the match, but failed to find the back of the net.

The Ireland international missed two 'big chances', one of which came from the penalty spot as the goalkeeper saved with his legs, but could have got on the scoresheet on another day had it not been for some exceptional goalkeeping from Clark.

Why Iwata was as bad as Idah and Yang

With Callum McGregor out, Iwata lined up alongside Paulo Bernardo and Matt O'Riley in the middle of the park for the Hoops and failed to impress.

It was his outstretched arm that was penalised to provide Hearts with the chance to take the lead from the spot, although Alistair Johnston barging into his back made it an unfortunate situation for the midfielder.

Iwata was then bailed out by the slimmest of margins as Shankland's goal was ruled out for offside after the Japanese flop had been robbed in midfield.

In a sequence that typified his performance, the 26-year-old dud took far too long to release the ball and was tackled by Hearts, who then burst forward and passed to their centre-forward to slot past Hearts, only for VAR to deem him to have been in an offside position.

Iwata's passive play in possession was a theme throughout the game as he dawdled on the ball and showed little urgency to get the ball forward, despite Celtic needing to get back into the match.

That also translated to his work out of possession as the defensive midfielder lost four of his six duels on the ground, which shows that the opposition were quicker and stronger than him more often than not on the deck.

Therefore, the Japanese battler, who lost possession 12 times in total, was as bad as Idah and Yang as he also made costly – and almost-costly – errors during the game and let his manager down badly with a poor performance.

ومن ضمن جوائز حفل الليلة، هناك جائزة الكرة الذهبية لأفضل لاعب في العالم لعام 2024، حيث يتواجد 30 مرشحًا ضمن المنافسين.

وكانت التقارير الصحفية في الفترة الأخيرة تشير إلى أن فينيسيوس جونيور، نجم ريال مدريد، هو المرشح الأبرز للتتويج بجائزة الكرة الذهبية لهذا العام.
